FC Percussion Update 9-5-23

Heads Up:

There are TWO chances to see the Floyd Central Highlander Band and Emerald Guard perform this week. Friday is a football game and Saturday is a competition day! Marchers will need to have black socks and black compression for the game and competition.

Football game:

This week's game is against Seymour. The meal will be Mark’s Feed Store. Odd students will be staying and even students will be going home at halftime. Ask your kiddo which group they are in.

Columbus North Meal:

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who signed up to feed our kids this week. All food/drinks should be at Floyd Central cafeteria (door 20) no later than 1:30. The schedule for this week is attached. Watch for a charms email with helpful information for Saturday. The kids will need to bring at least one meal to eat on the bus. It is a long day and they will be hungry on the ride home. Often access to concessions is limited or sold out by the time the kids have the opportunity to visit. [While at the competition, make sure you are aware of the volunteers. They are so important to make the day move smoothly.]

Chaperones:

The chaperone team is looking for a few more individuals to help round out the season. If you would love a ride to competitions and have a look at what goes on behind the scenes, this is your chance. Contact Dawn.Ringle@gmail.com Thank you Dawn for organizing!

Trophy Sponsors:

You can designate a student to present a trophy by sponsoring it!  Complete the attached sponsorship form and return it with payment by September 8th. Email TrophyMomsFC@gmail.com with questions. Thank you Jill Thomas for organizing.

Show Shirt Orders:

Did you miss ordering your show shirt? Now is your chance to fix that mistake. Your last chance to order this year's show shirt is quickly approaching. The store closes on Sunday, Sept 10. Make sure you ask grandparents, aunts/uncles, and your best friend’s neighbor if they want a shirt as this is the last opportunity. Thank you Brian Wehneman for organizing. https://323ink.chipply.com/FCHSBand/store.aspx

Concessions/Hospitality:

Floyd Central Invitational is known for its concession stand and hospitality room offerings. Now is your chance to donate these items. Every item donated is an item we don't have to purchase, and thus directly contributes to the profit we see from the event.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4EABAB2FA0FBC52-2023#/  Email concessions@floydcentralband.org with questions. Thank you Virginia Greer for organizing.

Invitational:

Spectator Parking is an important part of our invitational planning. Those who help with parking are the first faces many spectators see when they arrive. Your smiling face can set the tone for the entire day. Sign up to help with parking or any of the many other open spots today! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0548A8AB23A13-2023#/

Email vicepresident@floydcentralband.org with questions. Thank you Zach Haley for leading the charge.

Cotton Candy:

We could use help with selling cotton candy at football games. This is a great way to get involved and be upfront for the halftime performance. Consider volunteering your time for this fundraising event. Thank you Lauren Holtzmann for organizing. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0F49ADAB2AA3F85-cotton#/

Band Schedule:

Attached is this year’s band schedule. As a reminder, all listed dates and times are required for all marchers, including this weekend (homecoming) and events scheduled over fall break. Any concerns or questions should be discussed with the directors.
